WHO WE ARE

 

The Jackson PTO works in partnership with Jackson teachers and administrators to support the school’s educational goals through fundraising and volunteerism. The organization is structured according to the Jackson School PTO Bylaws which define procedures for the election of PTO officers, the establishment of PTO committees, member voting rights, and budgeting and spending.

 

All parents and guardians of children attending Jackson are encouraged to join the PTO and to attend the open meetings held during the school year.

 

Our organization strives to promote open communication and understanding between parents and staff at Jackson Elementary School. Our goal is to enhance and maximize the education of every child. It is our belief that the team effort of the parent teacher organization offers the best environment for our children.

VICE PRESIDENT

Hanna Calleri
  • Manages an efficient PTO, including and advising other board members.

  • Presides over board meeting

  • Liasion to Jackson Principal, Michele Miller

  • Directs inquires to appropriate committees and parties

  • Serve in an advisory capacity the following term

  • Shares responsibilites with the President, offers support

  • Presides over meetings when President is not available

  • Oversees general fundraising efforts and goals

  • Interfaces with committee chairs

SECRETARY
 
Christina Simpson
  • Takes minutes at all meeting and distributes 

  • Presents prior notes to board for approval, makes necessary adjustments

  • Keeps meetings on time and on track

  • Archives documents

  • Works with directory committee

FINANCIAL SECRETARY
 
Jamie Williams
  • Accurately counts and deposits funds into the bank account 

  • Creates and maintains a spreadsheet with deposits, attaches deposit slip for Treasurer

  • Responsible for collection, reconciliation and deposits of funds at PTO functions where money is exchanged

  • Reports all transactions to Treasurer in a timely fashion


COMMUNICATIONS

Maria Lorenzana
  • ​Publicize all general/board meetings through Facebook,  social media outlets

  • Publicize all special event and fundraising events through social media.

 ROOM PARENT  COORDINATORS

Stacie Roberts
TREASURER
 
Shawna Hook
  • Maintains all financial files and general bookkeeping

  • Issues and enters checks and deposits

  • Reconciles bank accounts

  • Generates reports including operating income and balance sheets, provides a financial statment for each meeting

  • Prepare 1099 forms when necessary

  • Works with fundraising chairs for inventory counts and reconciliation

PARLIAMENTARIAN
 
Jamie Shaieb
  • Member of the board who is well versed in PTO procedures

  • Acts as a consultant to assure meetings and processes are conducted in accordance with bylaws

  • Brings current copy of bylaws to each meeting

 
 
WEBMASTER

Maria Lorenzana
  • Maintain newsletter subscription email list

  • Gather newsletter content and broadcast when available (e-blasts)

  • Maintain and update website
